The DfE have now confirmed that the Spring Census 2021 will go ahead on 21st January 2021 as planned. The DfE have advised that “whilst most of the School Census requires details of pupils on roll, additional guidance will be provided by the end of the week to help you provide data for the other items such as school meals and class activity. To help you prepare, it is likely that this guidance will explain about how the DFE will require details of what you would expect or what would be timetabled if school was open as normal”.
The current available Fileset is 1704 and is available on our customer portal to download https://my.www.schoolicts.co.uk/ and via SOLUS3.
Please be advised however that Capita have issued this statement today regarding the fileset:
“This fileset will provide version 2021.1.3 of the DfE validation and the DfE summary report. However, version 2021.1.3 of the DfE validation is not ideal for authorisation of School Census Spring 2021 as the validation is still subject to final sign off and review of changes for validation errors 2530, 2480 and 2490. Similarly, a number of tables in the DfE summary report are still being reviewed by the DfE.
The DfE had expected to be able to provide version 2021.1.4 of their validation and summary report by early January, but this has not been possible while they dealt with the implications of the latest COVID-19 lockdown. We understand that the provision of these DfE inputs has a high priority for the DfE, but they have not yet been able to provide us with a revised expected release date.
You can be assured that we will provide version 2021.1.4 of the DfE validation and summery report via Fileset 1705 as soon as possible after we receive the files from the DfE. We will let you know when we receive a revised expected release date for the files from the DfE”

You can ensure colleagues have selected to be included with any future campaigns with regards to census by logging onto the customer portal and selecting Manage my account:
Then tick the Statutory Returns as an Area of Interest along with any other area you wish to receive communication about.
