Following on from our previous update in relation to Solus 3 and the URL change, we now have further information on how this will work.
ESS have released an update for Solus 3 which will change the URL in solus for your site and allow for all future updates to be available. This upgrade will update every agent defined within the deployment environment as well as the service. This update will not affect the use of SIMS. The most successful upgrades work best when the agent is online e.g. the computer or laptop is turned on.
The URL (http://s3ws.ess-solus.co.uk/packageserverservice.svc) will need to be approved on any Internet Filtering Systems you use and once these have been updated, you should then be able to apply the upgrade. The previous URL (http://s3ws.capitasolus.co.uk/packageserverservice.svc%29) will be available until the end of August 2021. Therefore the upgrade must be done before August 2021.
If you are currently on version 3.12.41.1 or older, you will need to run the upgrade of 3.12.50.2 before you run the latest upgrade of 3.12.59.5. However, there is a known issue with the upgrade that once the upgrade of 3.12.50.2 has been run, the deployment service may be removed, and will need re-installing before the next update can be run. We have created a helpsheet on our customer portal (my.www.schoolicts.co.uk) should this happen in our technical category.
This upgrade has been released to all secondary schools to allow you to deploy when convenient in school.
