Summer School Census Thursday 21st May 2026 

 

Dear Colleague,

We hope this message finds you well.

We would like to remind all schools that the Spring School Census date is set for Thursday 21st May 2026. It is crucial to ensure that all necessary data is accurately collected and prepared for submission. The final deadline to return the data to the Department for Education (DfE) is Wednesday 17th June 2026.

Please be aware that your Local Authority may have an earlier submission deadline, so we recommend checking with them to avoid any delays.

Webinars 

PPG are hosting special SIMS Summer Census webinars for customers. Sessions will run from 21st April through till 28th May and are open to all schools please register via this link – PPG -Summer Census Webinars

These sessions will take the same approach as those delivered in January by PPG and will include an overview of the census in both Next Gen and SIMS7 and some of the top census related issues.

  • Attendance collected from the start of 01/01/2026 to 05/04/2026
  • Exclusions collected from 01/08/2025 to 05/04/2026
  • Alternative Provision Placements collected from 15/01/2026 to 21/05/2026
  • Funding and Monitoring collected from 01/08/2025 to 21/05/2026
  • Learner Support collected from 01/08/2025 to 21/05/2026  (post 16 only)
  • Free School Meal Eligibility collected from 16/01/2026 to 21/05/2026*
