Welcome to our latest news: –

The end of the academic year is almost upon us, but there are still some important tasks to complete!

We’ve put together the following information to help you through the final tasks of the year.

For those of you on leave over the summer, we hope you have a well deserved break and for those of you keeping things running smoothly, you can contact us on: 0345 222 6802 Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm or contact the helpdesk via e-mail:

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing School ICT as your SIMS support provider and we look forward to another successful year with you from 2019 / 2020.

End of Year Procedures

The documents that describe the steps that should be followed to enable a successful transition from one academic year to another are now available to download from the Customer Portal. These can be accessed by logging onto the Portal and navigating to Knowledgebase / Categories / End of Year. The guidance covers the following: –
  • the creation of a new academic year
  • setting up next years registration and year groups
  • promotion of pupils from one year into the next
WARNING: You must complete these procedures before the start of the new academic year. It is critical that the new academic year is created and promotion routines run before the old year ends. These processes determine the year groups and registration groups into which pupils are placed in the new academic year. We therefore suggest you start these processes as early as possible, allowing sufficient time to complete by the start of the new academic year.

Exams Results Day Survival Kit!

With results day fast approaching we’re sure you’ll be focusing on what needs to be done to ensure a successful results day download.

To help you with this, we have created two documents; one listing all of the preparation required prior to results day and some helpful reports that can be run for Results Analysis and a second document with detailed instructions about how to update the Performance Measures Information for Summer 2019.

Both documents, along with the DFE Spreadsheets specifying which qualifications count in the KS4 and 16-18 Performance Measures in 2019, are available to download from the Knowledgebase on the Customer Portal.

If you have students who will be Certificating in BTEC Qualifications, additional preparation is required. The results basedata (7B15_19) should be requested via Edexcelonline and imported into the Summer Season in Exams and an entry file submitted to the board. This will ensure that you receive results electronically. Having imported the 7B Series Basedata, please ask your IT Department to apply Patch no. 17395 which will add the discount codes.

Capita have also provided a Results Day Survival Kit which can be downloaded via the link below.

Teacher Tapp

Do your teachers know of Teacher Tapp?
This FREE app is aimed at teachers who feel strongly about improving teaching and learning and want their voice to be heard, along with businesses and researchers who are seeking up-to-the minute insights as to what’s really happening in schools.

So, how does it work?
Every day at 3.30pm, thousands of teachers, (and support staff), spare a minute to answer a short survey sent directly to their phone via the Teacher Tapp App. Questions are delivered in a multiple choice format and are quick and easy to respond to.

Teacher Tapp works across a range of sectors to help understand the products and services teachers want and need. It’s run by former teachers and education experts who are committed to helping schools retain staff and therefore reduce the number of people leaving the profession.

Teachers also receive helpful articles and tips to support their CPD.

For more information visit or download the app from Google Play or the App Store.
